The colt, sold by Mill House Stud for breeder Julie Morgan, is a half-brother to Burrows Lane (Astrabad), a four-time winner and placed in the Grand Steeplechase di Roma (G3).
His dam Condolezza (Mansonnien) is an own-sister to the Grade 1 Prix La Haye Jousselin Chase winner Lagunak and the Listed winner Bombonera. She is dam of Burrows Saint, winner of the Irish National (G1).
Silverwave stands at Haras de la Croix Sonnet and this is his first crop of foals. (16:33)
Lot 922: the good draft for Mill House Stud continues, this colt by Harzand bought by Nicolas Bertran de Balanda, signing as Lulsley Bloodstock, for €50,000.
The February-born colt is out of Mathine, the dam of Lilly Pedlar, and a Malinas half-sister to the talented half-siblings Long Run and Liberthine.
Juliette Minton, on her way to the airport, took five minutes to chat about the two horses.
"The Silverwave was sent to us by some new clients, we have had the foal for eight weeks, and he is a cracker isn't he?" she said.
"The Harzand is a lovely, strong, good-walking type and has been bought to go back to France. He was bred by John Lightfoot, his mares live with him in Devon but we help with all the mating plans and the consigning. The family is just coming good – John bred Lilly Pedlar," said Minton, who added: "Trade has been amazing, we have sold five today and they have all gone well, we are very pleased. (16:38)

Day 5, Mares
Lot 1253: RECORD PRICE
The four-time Grade 1 winner Benie Des Dieux sells for a new record price at the Tattersalls Ireland November NH Sale when fetching €350,000.
A packed sale ring welcomed the mare by Great Pretender, offered by Closutton Stables and in-foal Walk In The Park, and the bidding kicked off at €100,000. Bids came in from all around the ring from Cormac Farrell, Will Kinsey and Ross Doyle, as well as online, but it was Coolmore's Gerry Aherne, bidding on the balcony, who was successful.
"She has been bought for MV Magnier and Noel and Valerie Moran in partnership, the first horse they have had together," said Aherne. "Noel and Valerie are putting together an incredible broodmare band and we are delighted to be involved with them.
"It was something that was discussed recently, Noel and Valerie are a big part of Irish racing now, so to start a relationship with them makes sense. Plans are fluid, the first job was to get the mare bought."
Of Benie Des Dieux, a Grade 1 winner at the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals, Aherne added: "Willie said to me this morning that of all the mares that he has sold he thought that she was the best. She looked stunning today, was turned out incredibly well. I am delighted for former owner Rich Ricci, too, he is another man who supports Irish racing at a high level."
Of plans moving forward, he said: "We are not short of stallions, but a horse such as In Swoop might suit, we will decide that with the Morans in time."
Of this week's trade at Tattersalls Ireland, he added: "It has been an incredible week. This country is amazing, the breeders around this country – they are amazing what they can produce." (16:52)
Lot 1251: the Grand National (G3) runner-up Magic Of Light is sold for €185,000, bought by Coolmara Stables, the farm earlier this week having sold the Crystal Ocean colt out of Daydream Beach for €120,000 (Lot 861).
Kieran Mariga and son Cathal, taking more time out from his Maynooth Equine Business course, were standing at the top of the stairs, with Mariga Jnr in charge of bidding. He positively and determinedly batted back attempts from Will Kinsey, as well as an online bidder, for the successful purchase of the Flemensfirth 10-year-old, sold carrying to Crystal Ocean.
It is the second time this week that the father and son team have been involved in the transaction of a leading lot – on Wednesday they sold this week's top-priced foal, the Crystal Ocean colt out of Daydream beach (Lot 861).
Mariga Jnr said: "We said that Benie would be too dear, so the next best was this mare. We really like her, she is a lovely strong mare with a good walk. She has a great pedigree herself, it is a great honour to be able to take her home.
"We haven't thought about plans yet, we will foal her down and see what the foal is like – she might go back to the same sire."
"We thought she'd make €150,000 and then we'd see where she got to," said Mariga Snr, before adding ruefully: "We didn't keep the money we made earlier this week for long!"
The mare was consigned today by Baroda Stud, offering her on behalf of owner Ann & Alan Potts Limited. She had been trained throughout her career by Jessica Harrington to win nine races, including three Grade 2 victories.
Daughter Kate Harrington was at the sale ground to see the mare sell.
"It has been emotional seeing her go,"she said, "but she has gone to a lovely farm. She did us all proud throughout her career. I bought her with Stephen Kemble and I rode her to win a bumper in my own colours. That was special at the time. It is amazing what she did in the Grand National, it is a pity COVID happened – that year she was in the form of her life." (16:45)
Lot 1254: Buildmeupbuttercup, the Listed-winning and Grade 1-placed mare by Sixties Icon, bred by William Harrison-Allan, is bought online by Jayne McGivern for €165,000.
She was offered by Closutton Stables, Willie Mullins having trained her since she transferred from the British Flat yard of Mick Channon. She was also sold in-foal to Crystal Ocean. (17:26)
RECORD A new best-ever aggregate of over €15,000,000 for the November NH Sale (in its current decade-long format) beating the previous best of €13,003,350 set in 2018. (17:31)
Lot 1257: Seamar Bloodstock goes to €135,000 for the Kingsalsa mare Salsaretta, sold by Closutton.
She is a six-time winner, with the Grade 2 Dawn Run Mares Novice Chase at Limerick amongst her laurels. She was also twice placed at Listed class over hurdles in France.
She is carrying to Blue Bresil on a May 12 cover. (18:00)
Lot 1292: sold by Clonbonny Stud, Hidden Harmony fetches €65,000.
She ran just once in a NH Flat race, but she boasts a top-class pedigree – she is a daughter of the Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 placed Shirley Casper, a Presenting full-sister to the Irish Grand National (G1) winner Thunder And Roses, and a half-sister to Kerry National (G1) winner Wrath Of Titans (Oscar), and to the Listed winner Oligarch Society, the dam of Brahma Bull/ (18:33)
