Lot 276: always a strong supporter of the September Yearling Sale, Ed Sackville buys a seventh horse, and the most expensive of his purchases so far through this year's sale, when going to £70,000 for the son of Dandy Man, a full-brother to Thatsallimsaying, a winner at two and placed in the St Hugh's Stakes. She is now dam of the Tom Dascombe-trained Lauded (Acclamation), also a winner at two and third in the Richmond Stakes (G2) from just three starts to date.
"This colt is by a stallion that we love, and this is a family that we know well – we had Lauded and Julius Geezer," explained Sackville, Julius Geezer, also trained by Dascombe, a four-time winner, a Listed third and a half-brother to this yearling's dam Model Looks. "This colt looks fast, a real sharp-looking two-year-old type. He is a fairly similar type to Lauded."
Underbidders included trainer Richard Fahey. (12:03)
Lot 306: “A gorgeous filly, probably the nicest filly we saw this week," said Tim Palin after buying Lot 305, a daughter of Kodiac from Croom House Stud.
"Ross [Doyle] just used the word ‘queen’ and she is. The auctioneer commented about Royal Ascot and you could just see her winging around Chester in the Lily Agnes and going to the Queen Mary or the Albany!
"It’s a fantastic page and she‘s quite a progressive mare, who is really just getting going. We might just have had one or two bids too many but we fell in love with her. She’s going to Richard Hannon."
The filly is out of the Debutante Stakes (G2) runner-up Oui Say Oui (Royal Applause), a half-sister to the Group 3 winner Eye Of The Storm (Galileo), the Sirenai Stakes (G3) winner Satchem (Inchinor), Listed winner Mohican Heights (Australia) as well as the group-placed pair, Curbyourenthusiasm and Eastern Express.
It is also the family of the Yorkshire Oaks (G1)-winning pair of Untold and Sally Brown, as well as Shoot Clear, a champion two-year-old in England in 1983. (13:27)
Lot 325: "He has been bought on spec, when I saw him I just fell in love with him, he is a great walker, he has that Galileo walk," said Ross Doyle after spending £57,000 on the Holy Roman Emperor colt out of Polka Dot (Galileo). "He goes to Richard Hannon and there are shares available!"
He was sold by Limekilns Stud, a sole offering this week by the stud. Gerry Ross of Limekilns said: "I have had him for 10 weeks, he has been straightforward all the way through. he is bred on a great cross, that of Holy Roman Emperor / Danehill and Galileo. We have done others out of the mare for the owner, too, and they all have that walk."
Polka Dot was a winner at three and it is the extended family of Designs On Rome, Romanised, Grey Swallow and Covert Love. (14:04)
Lot 340: is bought by Luke Lillingston for Kennet Valley Thoroughbreds and goes into training with Clive Cox. The April-born colt cost Lillingston £55,000, and was sold by Lodge Park Stud having been bought as a foal for 26,000gns by Emerald Bloodstock at the Tattersalls December Sale.
"When we are buying for Kennet Valley we try and buy a horse who looks as though he or she will run at two, but will train on too, and this colt looks just that," said Lillingston. "I have been very impressed with the sons of Kodiac that have had runners, and I have liked a lot of the Ardads that I have seen.
"This mare has also done a good job – she was well rated herself, and her runners have all been well rated too. And having 1,000 Guineas-winner as a second dam is not too bad either! But you can have all the paper you like, but this colt just has a fantastic eye and is a great mover. We are very happy to have him."
Seven of Regina's ten foals are winners, including the Listed class Survived (Kyllachy), Six Wives (Kingsalsa), who was rated 83, Nibras Again (Kyllachy) rated 80, and Garsman (Garswood), who was rated 87.
The colt is the top-priced yearling by the Overbury Stud-based sire to sell at public auction to date. (14:20)
Lot 374: another son of Mehmas proves popular in the ring, this time Anna and Kevin Ross win the battle at £65,000 for the Tally-Ho Stud-bred and sold colt. The colt is out of the Bushranger mare She Bu, who was unraced.
"His sire Mehmas is doing so well," said Ross, "and he has proved he can get a good horse. This colt looks a hardy two-year-old type, is from a fast pedigree and he looked to us as though he could be a type for Royal Ascot. He is for Paul and Clare Rooney, and a trainer will be decided upon at a later date."
She Bu is a half-sister to Firth Of Clyde (L) winner Ruby Rocket, dam of Prix de l'Abbaye (G1) winner Maarek, and to the Listed winner Alexander Alliance. She is dam of Mysteries Smiles, third in this season's Gimcrack Stakes (G2) and Sirenia Stakes (G3). Trained by Andrew Balding for King Power Racing, he is a son of Mehmas.

Lot 411: the well-balanced Bated Breath filly from Croom House Sud, bred by Epona Bloodstock, makes £40,000.
She is the first foal out of the Born To Sea mare Taste The Salt, who was placed three times as a three-year-old. She is a half-sister to the Norfolk Stakes (G2) and Woodcote Stakes (L) winner Baitha Alga (Fast Company). (16:36)
Lot 414: gives the T & P Partnership (Timmy Hillman and Phil Hoare) one of the pinhook results of the sale.
"We were sat ton the seats here and watching her go around and not making a lot, we had not seen her beforehand, but said, 'Let's stick in a grand each', so we did and bought her for 2,500gns," recounted Hillman.
The spontaneous decision proved to be the right one, the filly sold today for £42,000, bought by De Burgh Equine and trainer Fozzy Stack.
"She has been very simple filly to do, and has been busy since she has been here," added Hillman.
Hubie de Burgh said: "We love Starspangledbanner – we bought Aloha Star here last year – we have been very lucky with him. This is a beautiful filly, and has a great page, too."
The 2019 September graduate Aloha Star won the Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes in July, and finished third in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes in August. (17:12)
Lot 421: becomes the second top price lot of the session, selling for £155,000 bought by Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock, trainer Stuart Williams was underbidder.
"He is a very nice individual," said buyer Ross Doyle. "I took Richard Hannon to see him yesterday and he said that this horse reminds him of his sire Night Of Thunder, whom he trained.
"This colt looks a two-year-old type, he walks well, he is from a good farm in Grove Stud and, of course, Night Of Thunder is doing so well, he has some fantastic stats – gives you great chances of getting a good racehorse. He goes to Richard and is for a client."
Brendan Holland of Grove Stud paid 30,000gns for the colt at last year's Tattersalls December Foal Sale, buying him from breeder Mr Nigel Hardy and consigned by Bumble Mitchell.
He is the first foal out of Teolumne Meadows (High Chaparral), a half-sister to Circumvent, the Group 3 winner of the Prix Thomas Bryon, as well as three further black-type placed horses. (17:20)
Lot 437: J P Murtagh Racing and Eddie Linehan Bloodstock purchase a fifth lot at this year's September Sale, going to £70,000 for this Salcey Forest Stud-consigned son of Acclamation.
"We've waited sometime for him today!" smiled Johnny Murtagh, who trained his first Group 1 winner earlier this month with Champers Elysees' Matron Stakes victory. "He looks a ready-made two-year-old and I have the half-brother, who is a very genuine horse and this colt looks faster than him."
Bred by Dance Thoroughbreds, this colt is an April foal out of Voom Voom (Bahamian Bounty), a half-sister to the three-time Group 1 winner The Tin Man and the Group 2 winner Deacon Blues. (17:39)

Lot 456: from Rathbarry Stud (Agent) and by the farm's stallion Kodi Bear is bought by Syndicates Racing / Kelly Equine for £7,000.
