The colt, offered by Rockton Stud, the property of breeder Robert Ryan, is the first yearling by young sire Galileo Gold (Paco Boy), the 2,000 Guineas (G1) and St James's Palace Stakes (G1) winner, to sell at a Tattersalls-hosted sale. Galileo Gold stands at Tally-Ho Stud.

This filly was bred by Rifa Mustang Europe Ltd and sold by The Castlebridge Consignment. (12:13)
Lot 35: the first in the ring this week by new sire Ardad fetches £25,000.
"I have not seen an Ardad that I have not liked," said purchaser John Kilbride of the progeny by the Overbury Stud-based sire, a son of Kodiac and a winner of the 5f Group 2 Flying Childers. "This filly is a good mix of him and her broodmare sire Mount Nelson, she has some size and scope."
Bred by Knocktartan House Stud and sold today by Ballyvolane Stud, the filly is a half-sister to two winners – Jawwaal (Bahamian Bounty), a four-time winner and rated 98, and Don't Tell Claire (Gutaifan), recently placed second, and a winner this year. She is BHA rated 79. (12:46)
Lot 44: the Footstepsinthesand full-brother to Deputy Sandy, a two-year-old winner of his first start (since the catalogue was published) for trainer Jessica Harrington and owner Zhang Yuesheng, is bought by trainer Michael Dods for £34,000.

Lot 46: Philippa Mains could not hide her smiles as the brown colt by Adaay, whose first crop are two-year-olds of 2020, fetched £34,000.
"He was always a belter," she said. "He has been with Michael [Tallon] all the way through and he has done a fantastic job. I bought him here for 4,000gns for a syndicate made up of a group of young industry people, including Jack Bloom, Emily Sealey, Tara Watt, my brother Alex, as well as a couple of Mums!
"It is the first pinhooking venture for the group, and we have a Lawman selling later today (Lot 186) and a Fast Company (Lot 389) tomorrow.
"We wanted to buy trainers' horses and I hope that is what we have done, and why we came to this sale, " said Mains, the designated bloodstock agent for the group. The colt was bought by Clive Cox, with Micheal Donohoe of BBA Ireland an underbidder.
The Whitsbury Manor Stud stallion Adaay (Kodiac) is the current second-leading European first-season sire by winners ad prize-money. (13:00)
Lot 50: Monksland Stables sells the Exceed And Excel colt out of Betty Loch to trainer James Toller for £38,000.
The mare by Pivotal was a winner at three in Ireland for trainer Michael Halford. She hails from the family of Poule d'Essai des Pouliches runner-up Firth Of Lorne, ancestress of Falls Of Lora, the UAE Oaks winner (G3), Cascadian, runner-up in the Prix Jean Prat (G1), and Latharnach, who finished second in the St James's Palace Stakes (G1). (13:18)
Lot 63: "If he can race, if he has ability, he should be a good fit for Hong Kong," said Mick Kinane after buying the Mastercraftsman colt out of Brazilian Samba (Sadler's Wells) on behalf of the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
"He is an athletic, good walking type and is a three-quarters brother to a good horse in Hong Kong."
That close relation is Endowing, a son of Danehill Dancer (sire of Mastercraftsman), and winner of the Group 2 Longines Jockey Club Cup and the Listed Ladies Purse, both races staged at Sha Tin.
The new purchase was sold by Croom House Stud and bred by Epona Bloodstock. (13:28)
Lot 72: Bulrushes (Byron) has been some breeding mare – she has had five winners from five runners, four of them are blessed with black-type, three of which are stakes winners. The Group 3 winner Snazzy Jazzy (Red Jazz) at 110 is the highest-rated of the quartet, and he was trained by Clive Cox, who buys the yearling full-brother today for £75,000.
"We’re delighted to get Snazzy Jazzy’s brother who won the sale race and was a prolific earner for us,"said Cox. "I loved him when I saw the horse, he is really athletic, and sadly there are not many Red Jazzes around. I am delighted to secure him, especially for Middleham Park Racing as he is our first horse for them. I’m really thrilled to have an opportunity to train a horse like this for them.
"They were both athletic horses and knowing his brother it makes a lot of sense. He’s a nice horse and a full-brother to a 110-rated horse from a proper black-type family. The mare is still quite young as well."
Bulrushes is closely related to Tariq, winner of the Lennox Stakes (G2), and from the family of Wi Dud, winner of the Group 2 Flying Childers and runner-up in the Middle Park Stakes (G2). (13:59)
Lot 83: the Aquis Farm (Hunter Valley, Australia) stallion Divine Prophet (Choisir) spent just one season at Tara Stud, but left behind at least one good-looking filly who sold today for £32,000, bought by Charlie Johnston, son of trainer Mark.
"He is a bit of an unknown stallion for our owners," said Johnston, "but we have had success with sons of Choisir – The Last Lion, for example – and I guess that helped tip the balance. She is a nice filly and I think she was well bought – she is a half-sister to this year's Albany Stakes winner Dandalla."
The three-time winning mare Chellalia (Elnadim) has just had two runners so far, both of them winners. Breeder Mr Robert Norton sold through Newtownbarry House Stud.
The high points of Divine Prophet's racing career came when he won the Caulfield Guineas (G1) and finished third in the Champagne Stakes (G1) as a juvenile. He is yet to have runners in Australia.
Divine Prophet stood at €7,500 when in Ireland. A colt by him (Lot 141) from Tally-Ho Stud is due through the ring later today. (14:24)
Lot 84: rounds up a good two-lot spell for trainer Mark Johnston – after the preceding lot was purchased by his son Charlie, this son of Excelebration is probably going to be sent to thr Middleham Park-based trainer to train.
He was signed for Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock, bought on behalf of Middleham Park Racing.
"The mare has got a 111-rated runner by Lord Shanakill [Time Shanakill] and Excelebration has proved he can get a top horses, Barney Roy is by the sire. This is a lovely sort and probably goes to Mark Johnston. We were probably running on fumes bidding-wise," smiled Tim Palin, director of Middleham Park.
The colt was sold today by Baroda Stud for £60,000, a successful €20,000 pin-hook purchase as a foal. (14:29)
Lot 98: "She has been bought to breeze," said purchaser Katie Walsh after going to £70,000 for the daughter of Kingman. "She has a pedigree to die for and she will always hold her value as a broodmare.
"Hopefully, her full-brother will go on next year as a three-year-old and and do some more. He got very hot in the stalls last time and then ran too free, but I know they are mad for him at Ger Lyons's," said Walsh, adding: "This filly has a lot more positives for me than negatives."
The filly is a full-sister to the 102-rated and Group 3-placed Masen, a two-year-old of this year. Her second dam is Intercontinental and third dam the blue hen mare Hasili. (14:55)
Lot 115: "She is for a new client, new to the industry, and he particularly wanted to send a horse into training with Harry Eustace," said agent Hubie de Burgh after spending £68,000 on this daughter of Australia from Manister House.
"She is by a good young stallion, who is proven producer of Group performers. She comes from a good family, and if she becomes a stakes performer she will be worth many multiples more."
The bay filly is a first foal out of the unraced mare Dillydallydo (Holy Roman Emperor), a daughter of the Listed winner Dolydillie and from the family of the champion racehorses Sholokhov and Soldier Of Fortune and Group 1 winnersSkitter Scatter.
Eustace has rejoined his father James's training business at Park House Stables after a stint as assistant trainer to William Haggas. He is due to take over the reins from his father this winter.
The Coolmore stallion Australia broke his Group 1 duck this month when his son Galileo Chrome won the Doncaster St Leger for trainer Joseph O'Brien. (15:37)
Lot 129: "She is a very well-bred filly and will be coming back to breeze," said purchaser David O'Callaghan of Yeomanstown Stud. "She is out of a high-class mare and by a high class stallion, simples!"
That high-class dam is Duchess Andorra, a Group 3 winner by Duke Of Marmalade. Her third dam is Pass The Peace, champion two-year-old in Ireland in 1988 and winner of the Cheveley Park Stakes (G1). She was dam of the champion Embassy, the Group 2 winner Tarfishi and ancestress of King's Apostle, Emerald Peace, East, I Am Excited, Vital Statistics and Atlantic Jewel.
The high-class sire of this filly is the leading sire of juveniles, Kodiac. She was sold by Al Eile Stud for £65,000. (16:03)
Lot 145: the colt by Kodiac, out of Faithful Duchess (Bachelor Duke) and from Egmont Stud goes to Con Marnane for £38,000.
Faithful Duchess is a half-sister to Anna Law, the dam of the champion sprinter of 2018, 2019 and probably 2020, the speedster Battaash. He, of course, is a graduate of the Park Paddocks sale ring – he was sold to Shadwell Estate Company by Ballyphilip Stud, for 200,000gns through Tattersalls October Book 2 in 2015. (17:05)
Lot 165: the son of Teofilo becomes a new September Yearling Sale record holder when selling for £325,000, bought by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. The colt, bred by Jim Bolger, is a full-brother to two Group 3 winners – the Eyrefield Stakes (G3) winner Guaranteed and this year's Acomb Stakes (G3) winner Gear Up, whose success is an update on the catalogue page.
Today's colt was sold by Bolger's grand-daughter Clare Manning of Boherguy Stud in just her second year as a yearling consignor.
"He has been a superstar since he has been here," smiled Manning. "He has the pedigree and the physique, he was busy and had a number of vettings, but it was difficult in this climate to gauge how much people had in their pockets,"
Manning, who gasped when told her colt had broken the sale record, said: "I did not know that! I was hoping for around £200,000, but to get what he did! He came to prep eight weeks ago and has always been straightforward, he is one of those that just have got something about them.
"I have had a brief chat with grand-dad and he is absolutely delighted."
Family celebrations will have to be put on hold for a few weeks as Manning is in the midst of selling yearlings in the UK .
The successful purchaser was Mick Kinane for the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), outpointing Alex Elliott, who was standing at the top of the bidders with trainer Ralph Beckett and Kia Joorabchian of Amo Racing. They pressed hard for the colt, and came back with two late bids, including one from Elliott as he was walking down the stairs to leave, but the HKJC team was not to be denied.
"Phew!" said Kinane in the bright sunlight and outside the ring. "He is a lovely horse, and we didn't think we'd be pushed that hard. He was a stand-out, he could have been sold here in a few weeks at the October Sale. Hopefully, he can run like his brother, he was a good horse."
The sale's previous best price was €275,000 given by Shadwell in 2018 for the Grove Stud-offered Kodiac colt out of Lady Lucia. (18:02)
Lot 190: by Mayson, this colt is bought by trainer Karl Burke with his daughter Kelly for £47,000.
Sold by Grangemore Stud, a €25,000 foal pinhook by Suzanne Roberts, he is out of the winning Rip Van Winkle mare Idealist. She is a daughter of the Listed Sandingham Stakes-placed Illusion, a daughter of Fantasize from the family of Hypnotize, Hooray, Dazzle and Danehurst. (18:34)
Lot 199: another by Australia catches the buyers' eyes and this colt from Lynn Lodge Sud is signed for by Mouse O'Ryan at £50,000. He is a first foal out of Into The Lane, by Excelebration. She is a half-sister to the Group 1 Premio Lydia Tesio winner Sound Of Freedom. (18:54)
Lot 222: becomes the pinhook result of the session – the Mehmas colt offered by Beechvale Stud sells for £190,000 having been bought for just €19,000 as a foal.
Since that 2019 sale, the pedigree has enjoyed a significant update – the colt is now a half-brother to the Group 1 Matron Stakes winner Champers Elysees.
"He was a very athletic foal, and we really liked him to spend €19,000 on him," said Tara Armstrong of Beechvale Stud, which is based in Lisburn, near Belfast.. "Champers Elysees had finished second in the Birdcatcher then so we were hopeful she would go on.
"We also thought Mehmas might have big chances to become first-season too. My Dad has looked after him since last year so it is all down to him.
It is every pinhooker's dream to see a sibling improve the pedigree with Group 1 success, but the Matron Stakes day had an extra highlight for the connections. "We were all watching the Matron Stakes, and my brother Chris was at the races – he works for Aidan O'Brien and was with runners. It was a great day."
Of course, you can never be sure what might happen in a sale ring, but Tara reported that she was quietly confident beforehand. "You can never be too sure, but we were hopeful, he is a very good physical, he is very correct."
Purchaser Joe Foley, buying on behalf of Clipper Logistics, said: "“I hadn’t thought about it! [the price]. He is a particularly nice colt. The mare is good, and has actually bred two good Elzaams.
"Obviously Champers Elysees is there, but even without her he was a lovely colt and obviously the sire has done very well so I’m pleased to get him."
Champers Elysees herself may be seen overseas before the year is out – trainer Johnny Murtagh has voiced thoughts of a Breeders' Cup trip for the daughter of Elzaam. (19:53)

Day 1
Day 2
Good morning and welcome to Day 2 of the September Yearling Sale, it is a beautiful day here at Park Paddocks.
Selling starts at 10am. (09:45)
Lot 240: decent pinhooking profit made this morning by The Castlebridge Consignment-offered Fotostespinthesand filly – she was bought as a foal for €26,000 by Clifton Farm and was sold today for £44,000 to Durcan Bloodstock / J P O'Brien.
The March-born chesnut filly is a half-sister to five winners (from seven runners from the mare) and from the speed family of Dazed And Amazed, Bishops Court and Astonished, as well as last year's Group 3 winner Yulong Gold Fairy. (10:45)
Lot 244: Eddie Linehan Bloodstock and J P Murtagh Racing go to £47,000 for the Portlester Stud-offered Lope De Vega filly, the second foal out of the Galileo mare Lorgnette.
The bay filly is a grand-daughter of Dance Secretary, who finished third in the Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial (G3) and from the family of the Keeneland Turf Mile (G1) winner Perfect Soul. (11:11)
Lot 260: Boherguy Stud, which hit the heights last night selling the record-breaking top lot by Teofilo for £325,000 (Lot 165), gets another strong result this time courtesy of a New Approach colt who fetched £190,000. He was bought by Robson Aguiar, signing for Ebonos. The colt was purchased on behalf of AMO Racing and trainer Roger Varian.
"Roger really liked this horse, I am just helping!" said Aguiar. "The colt has everything there, he is a nice horse and has a nice pedigree."
The colt is a full-brother to New Treasure, winner of the Round Tower Stakes (G3) since the catalogue was published. New Treasure is trained and was bred by Jim Bolger, and is owned by Mrs Jim Bolger. Bolger, grand-father of Boherguy Stud's Clare Manning, also bred this colt, and, of course, trained the sire, New Approach.
There was plenty of interest around the ring and underbidders included Dwayne Woods and Matt Coleman.
Clare Manning said: "I knew the two of them were lovely individuals. Although they're quite different types they're both extremely nice individuals in their own ways, and the updates were obviously big boosts. I thought they'd be popular but they've both completely exceeded expectations. They've both really pulled it out of the bag!
"It couldn't have gone any better really. To get one touch like that is unbelievable, never mind two. There was a bit of apprehension coming to sale as we knew we had nice individuals but you're just not sure how deep people are going to be willing to put their hands into their pockets." (11:42)
Lot 265: the colt by Mehmas is making his way to Italy, bought by Marco Bozzi.
"He has been bought by Mrs Roveda and he goes into training in Milan with Mr Biondi. We have been buying for many years at Tattersalls. We liked this horse a lot, he is very strong and Mehmas has been going very well," said Bozzi.
Bred by Peter and James Jones, the March 1st colt, a half-brother to four winners, was sold by Egmont Stud, having been retained as a foal. (11:47)
