"He didn't do a fast time at all, but he is bred to be a 1m2f horse so you would not expect it – he is out of a Medaglia D'Oro mare from Stormy Atlantic's family," said Brown. "He is a phenomenal mover, he has a wonderful way of going. He has been bought for our Never Sy Die resale syndicate. We will put hm in a field for two weeks now and he will probably go to David's in September with a view to probably running on the All-Weather through the autumn.

It has been a good season for Ger and Yvonne Kennedy of Sherbourne Lodge, the couple also selling the only breeze up lot by first-season Goken this spring for 60,000gns at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale.

"Ger found him late on in the Fasig Sale," said Yvonne. "Buying in France and the US has been good to us this year, and there has been a lot of interest in the horse this spring."

The Kennedy's had to be patient to wait for today's sale.

"The sale companies have all been brilliant this season with everything this year. There is no place like an auction ring to find the true value of a horse."

The couple are heading home tonight, and have yearlings in ready for the next round of sales. (17:09)

Lot 145, a half-brother to the fabulous and ill-fated FAYONAGH made the headlines today at the Derby Sale selling for €195,000. The son of Milan consigned by Castledillon Stud was knocked down to Aidan O’Ryan and Gordon Elliott.

Agents Mags O’Toole and Tom Malone teamed up to purchase lot 79 from the fabulous Carrigeen family by Walk In The Park, who is a half-sister to Irish Grand National winner ROGUE ANGEL. The filly consigned by Liss House was knocked down for €110,000.

Lot 92 caught the attention of Highflyer Bloodstock when they secured the Authorized gelding for €105,000. Consigned by Moanmore Stables, the three-year-old is out of Cocopalm, herself a three-time winner and dam of five-time winner Blue Haways.

Lot 205 boasts a wonderful pedigree from the Parkhill family of MORLEY STREET and GRANVILLE AGAIN. The Flemensfirth gelding, consigned by Martin Cullinane’s Mount Brown Farm and out of Iconic Mystery sold for €100,000 to Jimmy Mangan.

Hamish Macauley and Ballycrystal Stables joined forces to purchase the son of Spanish Moon for €40,000. The imposing bay gelding consigned by Lakefield Farm is the first produce out of the French winning dam Mariane d’Anjou (Lot 526).

Taking joint honours at the €40,000 price was Lot 591 by Snow Sky. Consigned by Springhill Stud, the May born gelding was knocked down to Moffatt and Harley Dunne and beckons for a point to pointing career.

A half-brother to the Grade 2 winner FITZHENRY was sold to Carheenlea for €34,000. Consigned by Ballincurrig House Stud, the gelding is by Kayf Tara and is further related to JAZZ MESSENGER (Lot 589).

At the conclusion of the May Store Sale, Tattersalls Ireland CEO Matt Mitchell said;

"The original May Store Sale date was May 14 and in that short of time to now, the impact of Covid-19 has been enormous. It is positive that we have been able to hold the sale and to enable the market to function. Trade was selective with buyers adapting a cautious approach.
